DURING THE TAX YEAR BEGINNING 7/1/18, DRACHMAN DESIGN-BUILD COALITION DESIGNED TWO NEW AFFORDABLE RESIDENCES AND BEGAN CONSTRUCTION ON ONE OF THEM. APPROXIMATELY 40 UNDERGRADUATE AND GRADUATE ARCHITECTURE STUDENTS BENEFITED FROM THE HANDS-ON PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE OF DESIGNING AND CONSTRUCTING AN ENERGY EFFICIENT CUSTOM DWELLING. DURING CONSTRUCTION, DDBC INSTALLED ELECTRONIC THERMAL SENSORS TO STUDY THERMAL TRANSFER THROUGH WALL ASSEMBLIES ONCE THE RESIDENCE IS OCCUPIED. THE RESEARCH DATA MEASURING HEAT TRANSFER THROUGH VARIOUS WALL ASSEMBLIES WILL POTENTIALLY BENEFIT THOUSANDS OF FUTURE HOMEOWNERS.
