MULBERRY PLACE INC. IS A GROUP HOME FOR EIGHTEEN DEVELOPMENTALLY DISABLED INDIVIDUALS. RESIDENTS RECEIVE LIVING AND SELF-HELP SKILLS TRAINING TO ENABLE THEM TO LIVE INDEPENDENTLY WITHIN THE COMMUNITY. SECTION 811 CAPITAL ADVANCE PROGRAM FUNDS WERE OBTAINED FROM THE FEDERAL HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT AGENCY (HUD). IN ADDITION TO THESE FUNDS, HUD PROVIDES RENTAL SUPPLEMENTS FOR THE RESIDENTS AND REQUIRES THE RESIDENTS TO PAY A RENTAL AMOUNT. THE RESIDENT'S RENT APPROXIMATES 30% OF THE RESIDENT'S ADJUSTED INCOME OR IS A FLAT RENTAL FEE DETERMINED BY HUD.
