SPECIAL SERVICE CONTRACTS WITH LOCAL SCHOOL DISTRICTS TO PROVIDE TUTORING AND SPECIAL NEEDS ASSISTANCE TO ELEMENTARY AND MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS SELECTED BY SCHOOLS TO RECEIVE SUPPLEMENTAL EDUCATION SERVICES. ACADEMIC SUPPORTS INCLUDE HOMEWORK ASSISTANCE AND LITERACY WORKSHOPS. EDUCATIONAL ENRICHMENTS COVER A WIDE RANGE OF ACTIVITIES INCLUDING LITERACY AND STEM, MEDIA AND PERFORMANCE ARTS, SOCIAL EMOTIONAL AND LIFE SKILLS, AND SOCIAL ACTION PROJECTS. THESE WRAP AROUND SERVICES ARE PROVIDED TO OVER 500 K-8TH GRADE STUDENTS AT 8 PROGRAM SITES.


COMMUNITY BASED AND DRIVEN EFFORTS TO REDUCE THE DISPROPORTIONATELY HIGH RATE OF AFRICAN AMERICAN CHILD DEATH, INJURY AND TRAUMA, PROVIDE ACCESS TO QUALITY SERVICES AND PROGRAM, FOSTER EFFECTIVE EDUCATION, OUTREACH, AND CONNECTION SERVICES. COORDINATE EFFORTS TO REDUCE BLACK CHILD DEATHS AND HEALTH DISPARITIES, SUPPORT HAPPY AND HEALTHY CHILDREN, AND SUPPORT THEIR FAMILIES AND COMMUNITIES. THE PROGRAM BENEFITS AN AVERAGE OF 75 PARTICIPANTS DURING EACH PERIOD.
