INITIALLY THE ORGANIZATION RAISED FUNDS FOR OTHER ORGANIZATIONS AND PROJECTS TO SUPPORT THE YOUTH OF WALNUT CREEK. IN SEPTEMBER 2013, THE BOARD EXPANDED ITS MISSION TO BENEFIT THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY OF WALNUT CREEK.

WALNUT CREEK INITIATED THE BUILDING OF A UNIQUELY DESIGNED PLAYGROUND FOR CHILDREN OF ALL ABILITIES. THIS DESIGN INCLUDES ACCESSABLE PATHWAYS, SPECIALLY FORGIVING PLAYGROUND SURFACES, AND PLAY EQUIPMENT DESIGNED TO ACCOMMODATE WHEELCHAIRS AND OTHER PROTHESES FOR THE MOBILITY CHALLENGED. THE PROJECT WAS SHORT OF THE NECESSARY FUNDS TO ACCOMPLISH THE OPTIMAL DESIGN. WALNUT CREEK CIVIC PRIDE UNDERTOOK TO RAISE MORE THAN $375,000 IN PRIVATE FUNDS TO PAY FOR THE NOW SUCCESSFULLY BUILT PROJECT.
WALNUT CREEK CIVIC PRIDE PARTNERS WITH THE LPGA-USGA GIRLS GOLF PROGRAM TO HELP UNDERWRITE FEES TO KEEP THE COSTS REASONABLE FOR THE WALNUT CREEK YOUNG WOMEN PARTICIPATING IN THE PROGRAM.
