PROVIDE SUPPORT FOR EDUCATIONAL, INTERPRETIVE, RECREATIONAL, AND RESOURCE ENHANCEMENT PROGRAMS OF OUR PUBLIC LAND PARTNERS.

Part 3 - Line 4a

REDWOOD PARKS CONSERVANCY STAFF, FULL TIME AND PART TIME, SUPPLEMENTED PARK STAFF IN STATE AND NATINOAL PARK VISITOR CENTERS. IN ALL, CONSERVANCY STAFF SPENT OVER 9,000 HOURS SERVING VISITORS TO CALIFORNIA'S REDWOOD COAST IN 2021. IN ADDITION, THE CONSERVANCY FUNDED A GIS INTERNS AS WELL.


FUNDS SUPPORTED RECOVERY OF THE FEDERALLY THREATENED OREGON SILVERSPOT BUTTERFLY(OSB) AT TOLOWA DUNES STATE PARK. THE OSB POPULATION DECLINE HAS LED TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF AN AMBITIOUS TWO-PRONGED CONSERVATION AND RECOVERY APPROACH: 1) RESTORE THE HABITAT ELEMENTS ESSENTIAL FOR SUPPORTING THE BUTTERFLY'S LIFE STAGES IN AN AREA OF SUFFICIENT SIZE TO SUPPORT A ROBUST POPULATION AND 2) RE- ESTABLISH A ROBUST POPULATION USING AUGMENTATION FROM A CAPTIVE REARING PROGRAM.


FUNDS SUPPORTED THE GROVE OF THE TITANS BOARDWALK PROJECT. IT IS A 1,300-FOOT-LONG ELEVATED BOARDWALK THROUGH THE GROVE OF TITANS IN JEDEDIAH SMITH REDWOODS STATE PARK. THE RENOVATION PROJECT ESTABLISHES OFFICIAL, SAFE ACCESS TO THE GROVE OF TITANS, PROVIDES ECOSYSTEM PROTECTIONS FOR THE TREES, VISITOR SERVICES AND AMENITIES, INCLUDING NEW RESTROOM FACILITIES ALONG HOWLAND HILL ROAD.
