VOCES IS A COALITION THAT WORKS IN ADVOCATING FOR THE PROMOTION OF HEALTH AND EQUAL ACCESS TO INMUNIZATION THROUGH EDUCATION AND CHANGES IN PUBLIC POLICY.

FEMA FUNDS FOR COVID-19 VACCINATION: THE ORGANIZATION RECEIVED $11,200,000 THROUGH THE PUERTO RICO DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH TO MAINTAIN PERMANENT VACCINATION CENTERS AROUND PUERTO RICO TO CONDUCT COMMUNITY VACCINATION EFFORTS AGAINST COVID-19. THROUGH AN EDUCATIONAL CAMPAIGN, THE ORGANIZATION INFORMED THE PEOPLE OF THE RISKS OF COVID-19 AND THE IMPORTANCE OF GETTING THE VACCINE. DURING 2021 THERE WERE SEVEN VACCINATION CENTERS OPERATING AND A TOTAL OF 583,958 VACCINE DOSES WERE ADMINISTRATED. THIS PROGRAM WAS EXTENDED UNTIL JUNE 2022.


CORONAVIRUS RELIEF FUNDS FOR COVID-19 VACCINATION: THE ORGANIZATION RECEIVED $5,293,129 THROUGH THE PUERTO RICO DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH TO MAINTAIN PERMANENT VACCINATION CENTERS AROUND PUERTO RICO TO CONDUCT COMMUNITY VACCINATION EFFORTS AGAINST COVID-19. THROUGH AN EDUCATIONAL CAMPAIGN, THE ORGANIZATION INFORMED THE PEOPLE OF THE RISKS OF COVID-19 AND THE IMPORTANCE OF GETTING THE VACCINE. TELEMEDICINE PROGRAM - WITH FUNDS REGARDING THE CARES ACT OBTAINED FROM THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT THROUGH THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH OF PUERTO RICO THIS PROGRAM STARTED IN NOVEMBER 2020 WITH THE PURPOSE OF EDUCATING THE POPULATION TOWARDS THE TOOL OF TELEMEDICINE AND THE ADVANTAGES OF USING THIS TOOL TO OBTAINE MEDICAL CARE DURING THE PANDEMIC. IN COLABORATION WITH OTHER ORGANIZATIONS THIS PROGRAM WILL IMPACT OVER 250,000 PACIENTS WITH CRONIC DISEASES. THIS PROGRAM CLOSED ON DECEMBER 31, 2021.


OTHER PROGRAMS IN PLACE DURING 2021 ARE RELATED TO EFFORTS TOWARDS INMUNIZATION AGAINST INFLUENZA AS A PREVENTION OF CRONIC COVID 19 INFECTIONS AMONGST THE POPULATION, CAPAINGNS FOR EDUCATION ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF VACCINATION AGAINST HPV, AND VIRTUAL INMUNIZATION CONFERENCE EVENTS THAT HELPS TO EDUCATE ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF INMUNIZATION THROUGH VACCINATION FOR HEALTH PROFESSIONALS.
