CIVIL ENGINEERING CERTIFICATION, INC. PRODUCES A VOLUNTARY, POST-LICENSURE, SPECIALTY CERTIFICATIONS PROGRAM. CURRENTLY THERE ARE THREE ACADEMIES. THE FIRST IS THE AMERICAN ACADEMY OF WATER RESOURCES ENGINEERS (AAWRE) THE SECOND IS THE ACADEMY OF GEO PROFESSIONAL (AGP), AND THE THIRD IS THE ACADEMY OF COASTAL OCEAN PORT AND NAVIGATION ENGINEERS (ACOPNE). ALL THREE ACADEMIES PROVIDE CREDENTIALS (BOARD-CERTIFIED, WATER RESOURCES ENGINEER; BOARD-CERTIFIED, GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER; BOARD-CERTIFIED, COASTAL ENGINEER; BOARD-CERTIFIED, OCEAN ENGINEER; BOARD-CERTIFIED, PORT ENGINEER; AND BOARD-CERTIFIED, NAVIGATION ENGINEER). ALL THE CERTIFICATIONS ARE VOLUNTARY, POST-LICENSURE, SPECIALTY CERTIFICATION THAT PROVIDES RECOGNITION OF ADVANCED EXPERTISE IN A TECHNICAL SPECIALTY, SUPERIOR EXPERIENCE, STRONG PROFESSIONAL ETHICS AND A COMMITMENT TO LIFE-LONG LEARNING AND CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT. IN SUPPORT OF THE AMERICAN SOCIETY OF CIVIL ENGINEERS' POLICY TO BROADEN AND DEEPEN THE BODY OF KNOWLEDGE FOR PRACTICING ENGINEERS, THE AAWRE, AGP AND ACOPNE CERTIFICATIONS WERE DEVELOPED TO IMPROVE THE PRACTICE, ELEVATE THE STANDARDS AND ADVANCE THE PROFESSION OF CIVIL ENGINEERING. CERTIFICATION PROVIDES AN ADVANCED QUALIFICATION, BEYOND LICENSURE , THAT IS RECOGNIZED BY CLIENTS, EMPLOYERS, PEERS, AND THE PUBLIC. IT DEMONSTRATES A SPECIFIC TECHNICAL MASTERY WITHIN CIVIL ENGINEERING AND A STRONG COMMITMENT TO PROFESSIONAL ETHICS AND DEVELOPMENT.
