DEVELOPING AND ADMINISTERING A VOLUNTEER SERVICE PROGRAM CONSISTING PRINCIPALLY OF YOUTH VOLUNTEERS, WHICH BENEFIT THE COMMUNITY BY PROVIDING THIS NEEDED PUBLIC SERVICE. THE PROGRAM ALSO DEVELOPS EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES OF YOUTH THROUGH.

MIAMI-DADE CASHD SERVICES PROGRAM: - THIS PROGRAM SUPPORTS DISADVANTAGED YOUNG PEOPLE (CORPSMEMBERS) WHO HAVE EITHER DROPPED OUT OF SCHOOL OR HAVE GRADUATED FROM HIGH SCHOOL BUT ARE IN NEED OF HELP FINDING A JOB, TRAINING TO PREPARE FOR THE WORKPLACE, OR EXPLORING CAREER PATHS. THE CORPSMEMBERS PERFORMED OVER 45,000 SERVICE HOURS COMPLETING PROJECTS THAT IMPACT THE RESILIENCE, AESTHETICS, AND QUALITY OF LIFE OF RESIDENTS. THESE PROJECTS INCLUDE THE PAINTING OF HOMES, COLLECTION OF 32.83 TONS OF LITTER AND DEBRIS, ETC.


MIAMI-DADE PUBLIC HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT PROGRAM: PROVIDES COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) FUNDS TO IMPLEMENT HOUSING BEAUTIFICATIONS SERVICES TO INCLUDE PAINTING AND LANDSCAPING OF RESIDENTIAL HOMES IN MIAMI-DADE COUNTY.


CAREER SOURCE OF SOUTH FLORIDA: - THIS PROGRAM SUPPORTS DISADVANTAGED OUT OF SCHOOL YOUNG PEOPLE WHO HAVE EITHER DROPPED OUT OF SCHOOL OR HAVE GRADUATED FROM HIGH SCHOOL BUT ARE IN NEED OF HELP FINDING A JOB, TRAINING TO PREPARE FOR THE WORKPLACE, OR EXPLORING CAREER PATHS. DURING THE YEAR, 16 YOUTH RECEIVED THEIR HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMAS, 15 YOUTH PARTICIPATED IN FINANCIAL LITERACY AWARENESS TRAINING.
