PROGRAM TO PROVIDE DAILY CARE, TRAINING IN LIFE SKILLS, RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES, AND AN OPPORTUNITY TO PARTICIPATE IN COMMUNITY-BASED ACTIVITIES TO MENTALLY HANDICAPPED ADULTS.
PROGRAM PROVIDES HOUSING TO MENTALLY HANDICAPPED ADULTS, PRIMARILY IN GROUP HOMES, WITH 24-HOUR SUPERVISION. RESIDENT MANAGERS OVERSEE MEAL PLANNING, FOOD PREPARATION AND TRANSPORTATION. LESS SEVERELY HANDICAPPED ADULTS ARE SUPERVISED IN SHELTERED APARTMENTS WITHOUT 24-HOUR SUPERVISION.
PROGRAM ASSESSES HANDICAPPED INDIVIDUALS REFERRED BY THE STATE OF TENNESSEE FOR JOB READINESS AND, THROUGH TRAINING AND JOB COACHING, ASSISTS THE INDIVIDUALS IN FINDING EMPLOYMENT.
