THE ORGANIZATION'S PRIMARY EXEMPT PURPOSES ARE: 1. TO ADVANCE THE ART, SCIENCE, AND PRACTICE OF PLASTIC SURGERY AND RECONSTRUCTIVE SURGERY, AND BY SO DOING, TO BENEFIT THE PUBLIC. 2. TO PROMOTE THE HIGHEST STANDARDS OF ETHICAL CONDUCT AMONG PLASTIC SURGEONS. 3. TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC REGARDING PLASTIC AND RECONSTRUCTIVE SURGERY IN ORDER TO MAKE THEM BETTER INFORMED HEALTH CONSUMERS. 4. TO PROVIDE, THROUGH SCIENTIFIC MEETINGS AND OTHER MEANS, FOR THE INTERCHANGE OF INFORMATION AND KNOWLEDGE AMONG PLASTIC AND RECONSTRUCTIVE SURGEONS. 5. TO PROVIDE FOR BETTER COMMUNICATION BETWEEN THE SPECIALTY OF PLASTIC AND RECONSTRUCTIVE SURGERY AND OTHER SPECIALTIES. 6. TO PROMOTE THE INTERESTS OF THE MEMBERS OF THE SOCIETY SO AS TO BETTER ACHIEVE THE PURPOSES DESCRIBED ABOVE.

THE SOCIETY CONDUCTED A SCIENTIFIC MEETING OF THE EDUCATION OF ITS MEMBERS AND FOR THE EXCHANGE OF INFORMATION BETWEEN MEMBERS. IT HELD ONE ANNUAL BUSINESS MEETING OF THE MEMBERSHIP.


THE WEB SITE FOR EDUCATING THE PUBLIC ABOUT PLASTIC SURGERY AND FRO KEEPING MEMBERS AND OTHER PLASTIC SURGEONS UP TO DATE ON ISSUES OF INTEREST WAS MAINTAINED AND EXPANDED.


DURING THE YEAR, FPSP DISTRIBUTED NUMBEROUS MAILINGS AND FAX BROADCASTS TO ITS MEMBERS, INCLUDING MEMBERSHIP NEWSLETTERS AND DOZENS OF ELECTRONIC NEWSLETTERS CALLED "E-SCRIPT". ITS CURRENT MEMBERSHIP DIRECTORY WAS PUBLISHED ON THE WEB SITE.
