FROM JUNE 1, 2022 TO MAY 31, 2023, LCQ GUILD PROMOTED AND ENGAGED IN QUILT MAKING ACTIVITIES TO MAKE 712 QUILTS THAT WERE PRIMARILY DONATED TO LAKE COUNTY, FLORIDA ORGANIZATIONS. THE LIST OF RECIPIENTS INCLUDED LOCAL SCHOOLS SUCH AS THE HILLS SCHOOL (FABRIC MADE INTO ADL TOOLS FOR STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES), VETERAN'S GROUPS (QUILTS OF VALOR AND HERO QUILTS), REHAB FACILITIES, CARE CENTERS, HOSPICE ORGANIZATIONS, COUNTY FAMILY ORGANIZATIONS WHEREIN, OVER 100 BABY THROUGH ADULT SIZED QUILTS FOR ORGANIZATIONS LIKE "WORLD'S LARGEST BABY SHOWERX AND QUILTS USED BY OTHER 501(C)(3) ORGANIZATIONS FOR THEIR FUNDRAISING EVENTS. THE GUILD ALSO DONATED BACKPACKS AND SCHOOL SUPPLIES TO KIDS CENTRAL INC (NOW LUTHERAN CENTRAL) FOR BACK-TO-SCHOOL PROGRAMS.THE MEMBERS DONATED FABRIC FOR AND STITCHED UP TO 100 PILLOWCASES THAT WERE DISTRIBUTED TO CHILDREN FIGHTING CANCER, INFUSION CENTERS AND HOSPITALS FOR PATIENT CARE.A 100% FUNDED BY MEMBERS EVENT HELD EVERY YEAR IS THE SHOP WITH A COP PROGRAM. THIS IS A MONETARY DONATION OF $1500 CASH TO VARIOUS POLICE DEPARTMENTS IN LAKE COUNTY (ASTATULA, MARCOTTE, AND GROVELAND).THE GUILD HAS PROVIDED CONTINUING EDUCATION TO MEMBERS AND THE PUBLIC TO ADVANCE GROWTH IN THE ART OF QUILT MAKING. THE GUILD HAS ALSO CONTRIBUTED MONETARILY TO THE ARTS PROGRAMS OF LAKE SUMTER STATE COLLEGE FOUNDATION.
