FROM JUNE 1ST, 2021 THROUGH MAY 31ST, 2022, LCQ GUILD PROMOTED AND ENGAGED IN QUILT MAKING ACTIVITIES TO MAKE 502 QUILTS THAT WERE PRIMARILY DONATED TO LAKE COUNTY, FLORIDA ORGANIZATIONS. THE LIST OF RECIPIENTS INCLUDED LOCAL SCHOOLS (FABRIC MADE INTO ADL TOOLS FOR STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES), VETERAN'S GROUPS (QUILTS OF VALOR AND HERO QUILTS), REHAB FACILITIES, CARE CENTERS, HOSPICE ORGANIZATIONS, COUNTY FAMILY ORGANIZATIONS (BABY THROUGH ADULT SIZED QUILTS FOR ORGANIZATIONS LIKE "WORLD'S LARGEST BABY SHOWER") AND QUILTS USED BY OTHER 501(C)(3) ORGANIZATIONS FOR THEIR FUND-RAISING EVENTS. CHILDREN'S KNEEL ON PILLOWS HAVE ALSO BEEN GIVEN TO PRE-SCHOOL CENTERS.THE MEMBERS DONATED FABRIC FOR AND STITCHED UP 900 PILLOWCASES THAT WERE DISTRIBUTED TO CHILDREN FIGHTING CANCER, INFUSION CENTERS AND HOSPITALS FOR PATIENT CARE.A 100% MEMBER FUNDED EVENT HELD EVERY YEAR IS THE SHOP WITH A COP PROGRAM QUILT. THIS MONETARY DONATION TO THE POLICE DEPARTMENT WAS FOR $1450. THE GUILD HAS PROVIDED CONTINUING EDUCATION TO MEMBERS AND THE PUBLIC TO ADVANCE THE GROWTH IN THE ART OF QUILT MAKING. THE GUILD HAS ALSO CONTRIBUTED MONETARILY TO THE ARTS PROGRAMS OF LAKE SUMTER STATE COLLEGE FOUNDATION.
