YCAYS STRIVES TO TEACH AND INSPIRE YOUTH USING GODLY PRINCIPLES TO ENHANCE MORAL VALUES WITH EMPHASIS ON ACADEMIC AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT, FUNDAMENTALS, PARTICIPATION AND SPORTSMANSHIP. THROUGH SPORTS AND SOCIAL CURRICULUM, WE WILL INSPIRE AND DEVELOP OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUTH TO SURPASS AND PRESS ON IN OUR LOCAL COMMUNITY. COACH TONY BANNISTER FOUNDED THE YCAYS IN 1994 WHILE WORKING WITH THE CITY OF MELBOURNE, FLORIDA, COACHING AND MENTORING KIDS AT THE LOCAL COMMUNITY CENTER. COACH BANNISTER'S VISION WAS AND STILL IS TO TEACH OUR YOUTH ABOUT CHRIST AND FUNDAMENTAL VALUES OF LIFE THROUGH SPORTS. THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE (FL) RESOLUTION 2009-719 WAS ADOPTED TO HONOR AND COMMEND COACH TONY (WILLIE A.) BANNISTER FOR THE MANY SUCCESSES OF THE YOUNG CHRISTIANS IN ACTION SPORTS, INC., AND MANY ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF THE JACKSONVILLE LADY RAMS BASKETBALL PROGRAM. THE PROGRAM HAS EARNED AN EXCEPTIONAL REPUTATION FOR FIELDING HIGHLY COMPETITIVE, VERY TALENTED, AND WELL COACHED TEAMS LOCALLY, REGIONALLY, AND NATIONALLY. SUSTAINED A 100 PERCENT GRADUATION RATE SINCE 2010 FOR GIRLS' BASKETBALL AND PLAYERS HAVE RECEIVED OVER 100 ATHLETIC SCHOLARSHIPS TO DIVISION I, II & III COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES, INCLUDING THE US ARMY, AIR FORCE AND NAVY ACADEMIES.
