PUBLIC EDUCATION IS PROVIDED BY VOLUNTEERS WITH AN EDUCATION CENTER, COMMUNITY EVENTS AND THROUGH PRESENTATIONS AT SCHOOLS AND CHURCHES AND OTHER ORGANIZATIONS. SEA TURTLE PRESERVATION SOCIETY PROVIDES GUIDED PUBLIC TURTLE WALKS ALONG WITH BEACH CLEANUPS AND THEY DISTRIBUTE FLYERS AND MATERIALS REGARDING SEA TURTLES TO THE PUBLIC. IN 2019 AN ADDITIONAL KIOSK LOCATION WAS OPENED TO PROVIDE EDUCATION AND SERVICES TO MORE OF THE COMMUNITY.


SEA TURTLE PRESERVATION SOCIETY WORKS WITH INJURED SEA TURTLES AND THIS IS CONDUCTED BY VOLUNTEERS WITH PERMITS FROM THE FLORIDA WILDLIFE COMMISSION AND US FISH AND WILDLIFE SERVICES.


RESEARCH PROVIDED INCLUDES NEST SURVEYS ON A LOCAL BEACH IN ORDER TO HELP PRESERVE THE LOGERHEAD AND GREEN SEA TURTLE SPECIES. THIS DOCUMENTATION HELPS KEEP TRACK OF TURTLE NESTING AND HOW MANY HATCHLINGS SURVIVED TO MAKE IT OUT OF THE NEST.
