FAMILY HOUSING MANAGEMENT COMPANY, INC. WAS FORMED BY THE CATHOLIC DIOCESE OF ST. AUGUSTINE AS A NONPROFIT ENTITY TO MANAGE HUD SUBSIDIZED FACILITIES FOR THE ELDERLY AND DISABLED. THE DIOCESE ACTS AS THE SPONSOR. THE RENTAL HOUSING CONSISTS OF FOUR CORPORATE ENTITIES WITH 326 TOTAL UNITS. EACH ENTITY IS SUPPORTED BY VOLUNTEER BOARDS MADE UP OF BUSINESS, PROFESSIONAL, RETIRED AND RELIGIOUS INDIVIDUALS. THE VOLUNTEER BOARD MEMBERS TOTAL 42. THE RENTAL HOUSING IS A PLACE THAT THE ELDERLY AND DISABLED CAN CALL HOME WITH THE AFFORDABILITY OF RENT BASED ON A PERSON'S INCOME. ACTIVITIES AND SERVICES SUCH AS HEALTH FAIRS, REFERRALS, MEDICARE AND MEDICAID ASSISTANCE, POT LUCKS, AND OUTINGS ARE JUST A FEW THINGS THAT ALLOW THOSE THAT LIVE AT THE ENTITIES TO REMAIN IN A HOUSE ONLY SETTING.
