FOR THE PAST 98 YEARS, THE CUSHMAN SCHOOL'S MISSION AND PHILOSOPHY HAVE BEEN THE DRIVING FORCE FOR EVERY ASPECT OF SCHOOL LIFE. ENLIVENING THE SCHOOL'S PHILOSOPHY OF PLACING CHARACTER FIRST THROUGH THE APPLICATION OF STUDENTS' INDUSTRY, COURTESY, RESPONSIBILITY AND SCHOLARSHIP HAS BEEN THE HALLMARK OF THE SCHOOL. INSTILLING IN CUSHMAN'S 706 STUDENTS A STRONG WORK ETHIC, UNFAILING KINDNESS AND RESPECT, AND PERSONAL AND JOINT ACCOUNTABILITY AND RESPONSIBILITY LEADS TO THEIR PERSONAL ACHIEVEMENT OF SCHOLARSHIP. THIS MINDSET SERVES AS THE UNDERPINNING OF NOT ONLY A STUDENT'S ACADEMIC ENDEAVORS, BUT ALSO OF THEIR SOCIAL ENGAGEMENT, SERVICE TO OTHERS, AND ALL ASPECTS OF SCHOOL AND HOME LIFE. THE INTEGRATION OF THE HABITS OF MIND, COUPLED WITH STRONG ACADEMICS, THE INTEGRATION AND INCORPORATION OF THE PERFORMING AND VISUAL ARTS, ATHLETICS AND MOVEMENT, WORLD LANGUAGES, AND THE EXPECTATION TO LOOK BEYOND ONESELF IN AN EFFORT TO MAKE THE LIVES OF OTHERS JOYFUL, CONTINUES TO SET THE CUSHMAN SCHOOL APART FROM OTHER INDEPENDENT SCHOOLS. THE SCHOOL'S MISSION OF DEVELOPING LEADERS WHO HAVE A POSITIVE APPROACH TO LIFE PROVES TO BE REACHABLE EACH DAY AS WE HEAR ABOUT THE MANY POSITIVE ROLES OUR ALUMNI HAVE IN SOCIETY TODAY.
