THE MISSION OF THE DEVELOPMENTAL CENTER IS TO PROVIDE PSYCHOLOGICAL AND EDUCATIONAL SERVICES TO THE COMMUNITY AND ESPECIALLY TO PROVIDE CHARTER SCHOOL STUDENTS WITH A LEARNING ENVIRONMENT THAT FACILITATES THE DEVELOPMENT OF SELF CONFIDENCE, MOTIVATION AND ACADEMIC SKILLS. THE MOST SIGNIFICANT ACTIVITIES ARE PSYCHOLOGICAL AND EDUCATIONAL ASSESSMENT OF CHILDREN AND ADULTS AND THE OPERATION OF HORIZON CHARTER SCHOOL OF TAMPA. HORIZON CHARTER SCHOOL OF TAMPA HAS BEEN DESIGNATED A HIGH-PERFORMING CHARTER SCHOOL BY THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION. THE SCHOOL IS A PLUS RATED WITH A STUDENT POPULATION OF 313 STUDENTS. ADDITIONALLY THE SCHOOL HAS BEEN DESIGNATED BY THE STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION AS A "SCHOOL OF EXCELLENCE".
