THE MISSION OF PALSP IS TO EMPOWER OUR YOUTH THROUGH EDUCATIONAL, ATHLETIC, EMPLOYABILITY AND MENTORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES, THROUGH COLLABORATIONS WITH COMMUNITY PARTNERS AND POLICE OFFICERS TO FOSTER TRUST, INSPIRE HOPE AND FACILITATE CHANGE WITHIN THE COMMUNITIES WE SERVE. HOW WE ENGAGE - THROUGH OUR PROGRAMS (ACADEMIC, ATHLETIC, EMPLOYABILITY & MENTORING) WE ENGAGE KIDS BY PROVIDING A SAFE ENVIRONMENT TO LEARN AND BE INSPIRED (WOODLAWN & MIDTOWN). HOW WE EDUCATE - WE PROVIDE TUTORING AND ESSENTIAL LEARNING SKILLS DEVELOPMENT IN THE AREAS OF MATH, ETC. HOW WE EMPOWER - THROUGH MENTORSHIP FROM SPPD AND COMMUNITY LEADERS, OUR KIDS LEARN ESSENTIAL LIFE SKILLS TO PROPEL THEM FORWARD IN LIFE AS WELL AS THE IMPORTANCE FROM ROLE MODELS OF GIVING BACK TO THEIR COMMUNITIES.

PROGRAM SERVICES AFTERCARE - OVER 125 YOUTH PARTICIPATE IN THE PAL AFTERCARE PROGRAM. YOUTH HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO RECEIVE DAILY HOMEWORK HELP, LEARN THE FUNDAMENTALS OF SOCCER AND TENNIS, GROW AND HARVEST FRUIT AND VEGETABLES, PLAY RECREATIONAL GAMES, AND PARTICIPATE IN SELF-ESTEEM ENHANCING PROGRAMS. SUMMER CAMP - APPROXIMATELY 135 YOUTH PARTICIPATED IN THE PAL SUMMER CAMP PROGRAM. YOUTH HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO ATTEND EDUCATIONAL FIELD TRIPS, PARTICIPATE IN ATHLETIC GAMES, CONTINUE THEIR EDUCATION THROUGH ONGOING ACADEMIC PROGRAMING, AND BE MENTORED BY VOLUNTEERS AND POLICE OFFICERS. ATHLETICS - THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, OVER 200 YOUTH PARTICIPATED IN ATHLETIC PROGRAMING HOSTED BY PAL. YOUTH PARTICIPATED IN BASKETBALL SKILL CAMPS, T- BALL, FLAG FOOTBALL TOURNAMENTS, CHEERLEADING COMPETITIONS, SOCCER SKILL AND DRILLS CLINICS, AND EVENING BASKETBALL OPEN GYM PLAY.
