4A) THE AMERICAN LEGION WAS CHARTERED BY CONGRESS IN 1919 AS A PATRIOTIC WARTIME VETERANS ORGANIZATION, DEVOTED TO MUTUAL HELPFULNESS IT IS A NOT-FOR-PROFIT COMMUNITY SERVICE ORGANIZATION WHICH NOW NUMBERS NEARLY 3 MILLION MEMBERS. OUR BRUNSWICK AMERICAN LEGION POST #9 WAS CHARTERED ON AUGUST 9, 1919, WE ARE A FAMILY POST AND DO NOT ALLOW ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES OR SMOKING IN OUR BUILDINGS. WE SPONSOR SPECIAL PROJECTS TO ENABLE US TO HELP VETERANS, SUCH AS THE W.T. OBRIEN FUND FOR WOUNDED WARRIORS. WE HAVE FUND RAISERS, SUCH AS MOTORCYCLE RIDES AND GOLF TOURNAMENTS TO SUPPORT OUR CHARRITIES. WE CONTINUE TO PROVIDE FLAGS FOR VETERQANS GRAVES ON MEMORIAL AND VETERANS DAYS.
