TO PROVIDE EMERGENCY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO FAMILIES IN NEED THROUGHOUT BARROW COUNTY, GEORGIA.

IN 2021, THE CHURCH OF THE MONTH PROGRAM PAID UTILITY, GASOLINE, MORTGAGE, CAR INSURANCE, AND MEDICATION BILLS FOR 293 FAMILIES EXPERIENCING SEVERE FINANCIAL HARDSHIP IN BARROW COUNTY, GEORGIA.


THRIFT SHOP SELLS USED CLOTHING AND HOUSEHOLD ITEMS. CLOTHING IS ALSO GIVEN AWAY WITH VOUCHERS DISTRIBUTED BY DFACS, SCHOOLS, CHURCHES, AND OTHER TAX EXEMPT ORGANIZATIONS. THRIFT STORE ITEMS NOT SOLD OR GIVEN AWAY ARE CONTRIBUTED TO PRISONS, SCHOOLS, TAX EXEMPT ORGANIZATIONS, AND THE HOMELESS.


IN 2021, APPROXIMATELY 12,370 MEALS WERE PROVIDED TO FAMILIES IN NEED IN BARROW COUNTY, GEORGIA THROUGH THE FOOD BANK PROGRAM. IN ADDITION TO THE FOOD BANK PROVIDING MEALS 5 DAYS A WEEK, BARROW COUNTY COOPERATIVE BENEVOLENCE MINISTRIES ALSO PROVIDED MEALS THROUGH OUTDOOR DISTRIBUTION EVENTS INCLUDING THE SUMMER LUNCH PROGRAM FOR KIDS THAT PARTICIPATE IN THE FREE OR REDUCED LUNCH PROGRAM DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR.
