UNITY: JOURNALISTS FOR DIVERSITY, INC, IS A STRATEGIC ALLIANCE THAT: 1) ADVOCATES FAIR AND ACCURATE COVERAGE ABOUT DIVERSITY, ESPECIALLY RACE, NATIONALITY, ETHNICITY, GENDER IDENTITY AND SEXUAL ORIENTATION;2)AGGRESSIVELY CHALLENGES THE INDUSTRY TO STAFF ITS ORGANIZATION AT JOINTLY PROMOTE THE PUBLIC SERVICE OF ITS MEMBERS OF THE CONSORTIUM OF THREE DIVERSE JOURNALISTS ASSOCIATIONS; SUPPORT FORUMS FOR DISCUSSION OF ISSUES AFFECTING SUCH PERSONS; PROMOTE AND DELIVER TRAINING FOR JOURNALISTIC ENTREPRENEURSHIP.

REGIONAL SUMMITS: A SERIES OF COLLABORATIVE REGIONAL MEDIA SUMMITS IN OVERLOOKED AND UNDERREPRESENTED AREAS OF THE COUNTRY, IN COMMUNITIES WITH LIMITED RESOURCES AND LOW MEDIA COVERAGE SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES OF COLOR AND LGBT ISSUES. THE OVERALL THEME OF THE REGIONAL MEDIA SUMMITS IS POVERTY, RACE RELATIONS AND MEDIA DIVERSITY. UNITY SUPPORTS AND ORGANIZES DAY LONG SUMMITS THAT INCLUDE LOCAL MEDIA OUTREACH/LITERACY, COMMUNITY MEDIA ACCESS, SOCIAL MEDIA, ENTREPRENEURIAL JOURNALISM AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FOR JOURNALISTS, COMMUNITY RESIDENTS, STUDENTS AND FACULTY.
