TO SERVE, BUILD CAPACITY, & FOSTER COLLABORATION AMONG NONPROFIT & PHILANTHROPIC COMMUNITIES.

Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

TRAINING & CAPACITY BUILDING: THE ALLIANCE PROVIDES LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES FOR NONPROFIT AND PHILANTHROPIC ORGANIZATIONS TO INCREASE THEIR CAPACITY AND EFFECTIVENESS. LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES INCLUDE: FACE-TO-FACE WORKSHOPS, WEBINARS, CERTIFICATION PROGRAMS, ONLINE COURSES AND PEER LEARNING BASED ON THE PRINCIPLES AND STANDARDS FOR NONPROFIT AND PHILANTHROPY MANAGEMENT EXCELLENCE. THE CAPACITY BUILDING INITIATIVES INCLUDE THE CAMPAIGN FOR GRADE-LEVEL READING, ENDOW MS AND AFFINITY GROUPS WHICH ALLOW MEMBERS TO QUICKLY MOVE FROM CONVERSATION TO COLLABORATIVE ACTION TO HELP IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR CHILDREN, FAMILIES AND COMMUNITIES.THE ALLIANCE HIRED TWO (2) FULL-TIME EMPLOYEES TO CREATE AND STAFF THE POLICY UNIT (POLICY UNIT COORDINATOR AND AN ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT). AS A RESULT, THE FOLLOWING WAS ACCOMPLISHED: - TWO ADDITIONAL AFFINITY GROUPS WERE CREATED: HEALTH AFFINITY GROUP AND WORKFORCE/FAMILY ECONOMIC SUCCESS AFFINITY GROUP. (EDUCATION AFFINITY GROUP AND COMMUNITY FOUNDATION NETWORK ALREADY EXISTED). - THE ALLIANCE HELD OVER 200 TRAINING SESSIONS AND WEBINARS TO BUILD CONSTITUENT CAPACITY. - THE ALLIANCE CONDUCTED OVER 50 CONSULTATIONS WITH ORGANIZATIONS.THIS ADDS UP TO 357 SERVICE HOURS DELIVERED TO 1,619 PARTICIPANTS.


MEMBERSHIP:THE ALLIANCE'S MEMBERSHIP REPRESENTS A BROAD RANGE OF MISSION-BASED ORGANIZATIONS FROM ACROSS THE STATE. THE ALLIANCE'S GOAL IS TO PROVIDE HIGH-QUALITY TRAININGS, TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE AND COMPREHENSIVE SUPPORT AND RESOURCES TO ITS MEMBERS THROUGH A VARIETY OF TOOLS, INFORMATION AND PRODUCTS TO HELP THEM ACHIEVE THEIR GOALS AND MISSION. MEMBERS HAVE ACCESS TO A RANGE OF BENEFITS AND SERVICES INCLUDING QUARTERLY NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES WITH OTHER NONPROFITS AND PHILANTHROPISTS; DISCOUNTS ON TRAININGS, PRODUCTS AND SERVICES INCLUDING OFFICE SUPPLIES, VIDEO TELECONFERENCING TECHNOLOGY AND DIRECTOR AND OFFICER LIABILITY INSURANCE; AND FREE SUBSCRIPTIONS TO GUIDESTAR AND THE SOCIETY FOR NONPROFITS. MEMBERSHIP LEVELS ARE BASED ON ORGANIZATION TYPE AND SIZE. THE ALLIANCE ENDED THE 2021 YEAR WITH 283 MEMBERS.


COMMUNICATIONS & MARKETING:THE ALLIANCE EMPLOYS A COMPREHENSIVE COMMUNICATIONS PLAN THAT SEEKS TO GIVE CLEAR AND CONSISTENT MESSAGING WITH INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL STAKEHOLDERS. THE PLAN UTILIZES MULTIPLE COMMUNICATIONS PLATFORMS, INCLUDING A WEBSITE, EMAILS, SOCIAL MEDIA, ELECTRONIC NEWSLETTERS AND PRINT MATERIALS.A MEMBER DASHBOARD WAS LAUNCHED IN JANUARY. THE DASHBOARD ALLOWS MEMBERS TO SEE THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION IN ONE PLACE: - MEMBERSHIP TYPE, RENEWAL DATE, ETC. - CONTACT INFORMATION - GUIDESTAR SEAL LEVEL AND LINKS TO PROFILE - ALLIANCE PURCHASES, SUCH AS SPECIAL REPORTS - DONATION HISTORY - TRAINING HISTORY - EXCELLENCE IN ACTION LEVEL OF ACHIEVEMENT - LEARNING TRACK PARTICIPATIONIN 2021, THE ALLIANCE'S DIFFERENT MODES OF COMMUNICATION (EMAIL ALERTS, NEWSLETTER, SOCIAL MEDIA) CONTACTED OVER 55,957 OPENS.


MS HUB NETWORK:THE MISSISSIPPI VOLUNTEER AND NONPROFIT HUB NETWORK (MS HUB NETWORK) IS A PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN THE ALLIANCE AND VOLUNTEER MISSISSIPPI. THE MS HUB NETWORK IS A RESOURCE AND ADVOCATE FOR VOLUNTEERISM, CAPACITY BUILDING AND TRAINING IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE ALLIANCE. THE ALLIANCE HOUSES THE CENTRAL MS HUB AND PROVIDES OPERATING SUPPORT FOR ITS ACTIVITIES.
