THE ARK UNITED MINISTRY OUTREACH CENTER (THE "ARK") IS AN OUTREACH CENTER PROVIDING EMERGENCY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO THE LOW-INCOME POPULATION OF ATHENS-CLARKE COUNTY AND SURROUNDING COUNTIES. THE ARK SERVES AS THE COMMUNITY'S EMERGENCY ROOM FOR FAMILIES FACING FINANCIAL CRISIS WHO HAVE NOWHERE ELSE TO TURN AND ARE STRUGGLING TO MEET LIFE'S BASIC NEEDS. THE ASSISTANCE THEY RECEIVE FROM THE ARK PREVENTS HOMELESSNESS AND LOSS OF UTILITIES. THE ARK PROVIDED ASSISTANCE TO ABOUT 800 INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES IN 2021.
