THE SCATTERED SITE II PROGRAM PERMANENTLY HOUSES LOW INCOME FAMILIES OR INDIVIDUALS IN WHICH AT LEAST ONE MEMBER OF THE HOUSEHOLD IS LIVING WITH A DIAGNOSIS OF HIV / AIDS. DURING THE YEAR, THE PROGRAM PROVIDED 227 FURNISHED APARTMENTS SCATTERED THROUGHOUT THE METROPOLITAN ATLANTA AREA. THE PROGRAM ALSO PROVIDED COUNSELING, ACCESS TO AND INSTRUCTION IN, A COMPUTER LEARNING CENTER DESIGNED FOR ADULTS AND FOR CHILDREN, TUTORING, SUPPORT GROUPS, RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES, WELL-HEALTH GROUP LEARNING SESSIONS, AS WELL AS FINANCIAL WELL-BEING GROUP LEARNING SESSIONS. THESE TOOLS HELP IN ASSISTING OUR RESIDENTS TO MEET GOALS THAT WILL HELP THEM MEET NEW GOALS IN THEIR LIVES, ENCOURAGING AND EMPOWERING THEM WITH THE TOOLS NECESSARY TO SOMEDAY MOVE FROM TO A MORE INDEPENDENT, MORE SUSTAINABLE LIFESTYLE, AS WELL AS BECOMING BOTH HAPPY AND PRODUCTIVE MEMBERS IN OUR LOCAL COMMUNITY. SSII ALSO PROVIDES NEW HORIZONS TENANT BASE RENTAL ASSISTANCE THAT SERVES APPROXIMATELY 75 FAMILIES WHO CAN LEASE THEIR OWN APARTMENT OR HOUSING. THE AGENCY PROVIDES A HOUSING SUBSIDY TO OFFSET RENT AND UTILITIES.


THE FAMILY PROGRAM PERMANENTLY HOUSES FAMILIES/INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE HOMELESS AND WHO ARE HIV POSITIVE, AND THEIR CHILDREN. DURING THE YEAR, THIS PROGRAM PROVIDES TWELVE FULLY FURNISHED APARTMENTS ON A PROPERTY WHOLLY OWNED BY JERUSALEM HOUSE, INC. THIS PROGRAM PROVIDES COUNSELING, ACCESS TO AND INSTRUCTION IN A COMPUTER LEARNING ENVIRONMENT, DESIGNED FOR ADULTS AND FOR CHILDREN, TUTORING, SUPPORT GROUPS, RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES, WELL-HEALTH GROUP LEARNING SESSIONS, AS WELL AS FINANCIAL WELL-BEING GROUP LEARNING SESSIONS. THESE PROVIDE STRONG INDICATORS WHICH HAVE BEEN SHOWN TO ASSIST OUR SINGLE MOTHERS IN THEIR LIVES, ENCOURAGING AND EMPOWERING THEM WITH THE TOOLS OFFERED TO SOMEDAY MOVE FROM WITHIN THE PARADIGM OF THE CARING AND ASSISTED LIVING PHILOSOPHY TO A MORE INDEPENDENT LIFESTYLE ALSO OFFERED BY JERUSALEM HOUSE, FOR INSTANCE TO WITHIN THE SCATTERED SITE II FRAMEWORK
