EACH YEAR, WE RECOGNIZE STATE TROOPERS, MOTOR CARRIER COMPLIANCE OFFICERS, CAPITOL POLICE OFFICERS, DPS CIVILIAN EMPLOYEES, AS WELL AS LAW ENFORCEMENT AND/OR CIVILIANS OUTSIDE OF OUR DEPARTMENT WHO HAVE PERFORMED MERITORIOUS ACTS OR DISPLAYED CONSISTENT EXEMPLARY PERFORMANCE IN THE COURSE OF THEIR DUTIES. INSTEAD OF GIVING THEM AN AWARD IN AN OFFICE SETTING, WE TRY TO MAKE THIS A MEMORABLE OCCASION WHERE FAMILY AND FRIENDS CAN CELEBRATE WITH THE AWARDEES. WE ALSO RECOGNIZE OUR ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS DURING THIS CEREMONY.
