CANDLER FOUNDATION, INC. PRIMARILY SUPPORTS CANDLER HOSPITAL, INC., A 307- BED, ACUTE CARE HOSPITAL IN SAVANNAH, GEORGIA, WHICH SERVICES A METROPOLITAN POPULATION BASE OF APPROXIMATELY 379,000 AND THE SURROUNDING COUNTIES. FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2021, CANDLER FOUNDATION RAISED FUNDS TOTALING 1,321,903 AND PROVIDED GRANTS OF 666,040 TO FURTHER THE TAX- EXEMPT PURPOSE OF CANDLER HOSPITAL AND 113,466 TO THE RELATED TAX-EXEMPT ENTITIES OF ST. JOSEPH'S/CANDLER HEALTH SYSTEM, INC. CANDLER HOSPITAL FURTHERS ITS EXEMPT PURPOSE BY PROMOTING HEALTH IN THE COMMUNITY BY PROVIDING MEDICAL EDUCATION TO PATIENTS IN THE COMMUNITY, CONDUCTING RESEARCH, AND IMPLEMENTING TECHNOLOGY THAT NOT ONLY PROVIDES THE LATEST IN TREATMENT, BUT ALLOWS PATIENTS TO RECEIVE HIGH QUALITY OF CARE IN THEIR OWN COMMUNITY AND ALLOWS THE HOSPITAL TO CONTINUALLY IMPROVE PATIENT SAFETY BY IMPLEMENTING TECHNOLOGY THAT PREVENTS MEDICATION ERRORS, ETC.
