EDUCATION PROGRAM PROVIDES CLASSES THROUGHOUT THE METRO ATLANTA AREA FOR PERSONS DIAGNOSED WITH DIABETES. THE CLASS INSTRUCTS PARTICIPANTS (AND THEIR SUPPORT PERSONS(S) HOW TO CONTROL AND MANAGE THEIR DIABETES ON A DAILY BASIS TO PREVENT LIFE-LONG COMPLICATIONS.


EMERGENCY MEDICAL ASSISTANCE PROVIDES MEDICINES TO PERSONS WITH DIABETES FOR A 30 DAY PERIOD. THE MEDICAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM PROVIDES PARTICIPANTS, WHO QUALIFY, WITH MEDICINE AND MEDICAL SUPPLIES FOR A PERIOD OF SIX MONTHS. PARTICIPANTS IN THE SIX MONTH PROGRAM MUST ATTEND EDUCATION CLASSES.


HEALTH SCREENING IDENTIFIES INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE AT RISK OF DEVELOPING DIABETES AND THOSE WHO MAY HAVE DIABETES AND MAY BE UNAWARE THAT THEY HAVE THE DISEASE.
