IT IS THE MISSION OF SENIOR CITIZENS, INC. (THE AGENCY) TO HELP PEOPLE AGE SUCCESSFULLY. THE AGENCY WAS ORGANIZED IN 1959 FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING NOONDAY MEALS TO SENIORS IN THE SAVANNAH AREA WHO COULD NO LONGER PREPARE THEIR OWN MEALS. THE AGENCY HAS EXPANDED ITS SERVICES TO INCLUDE SPECIALIZED ADULT DAY CARE FOR SENIORS WITH ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE AND OTHER FORMS OF DEMENTIA, AS WELL AS PROVIDING SERVICES INCLUDING: TRANSPORTATION, CARE MANAGEMENT, EDUCATION, RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES, AND IN-HOME SUPPORT SERVICES.
