THE FOUNDATION CONTINUES TO MAINTAIN AND UPDATE A WEBSITE THAT SERVES AS A MEANS FOR THE PUBLIC TO SEEK ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS ABOUT OR FROM PREVIOUSLY UNKNOWN COLLECTORS OR WORKS. THE TRUSTEE OR OTHER REPRESENTATIVES ANSWER ABOUT A DOZEN QUESTIONS EACH YEAR. IN 2023 THEY CAME ON A WORLDWIDE BASIS FROM OWNERS, GALLERIES, AUCTION HOUSES, MUSEUMS, PUBLISHERS, DISTANT FAMILY MEMBERS AND UNIVERSITY STUDENTS. DURING 2023 18 WORKS OWNED BY THE FOUNDATION WERE SOLD FROM CONSIGNMENTS THAT WERE NOT ACCOUNTED FOR UNTIL 2024. OTHER WORKS NOT OWNED BY THE FOUNDATION WERE SOLD AT AUCTIONS IN NEW YORK AND NEW ORLEANS. IN 2023 A COLLECTOR OF MORE THAN FIFTY WORKS BY EMILIO SANCHEZ INVITED TWO REPRESENTATIVES OF THE FOUNDATION TO VIEW, DESCRIBE AND PHOTOGRAPH A PREVIOUSLY UNKNOWN COLLECTION. THEREAFTER THE TRUSTEE CONTACTED A FEW ACADEMIC MUSEUMS ABOUT INTERESTS IN THE WHOLE COLLECTION FOR THE PURPOSE OF KEEPING IT TOGETHER. DESPITE EXTENSIVE EXCHANGES OF EMAILS, NO WILLING DONEE WAS FOUND THAT WOULD AC
AT THE END OF MAY 2023 AN EXHIBITION OF LESSER-KNOWN WORKS BY EMILIO SANCHEZ CLOSED AT WEAM IN MIAMI BEACH AFTER HAVING BEEN HELD OPEN BY PUBLIC DEMAND FOR AN ADDITIONAL THREE MONTHS. THE TOTAL ATTENDANCE EXCEEDED 3,500 VISITORS. DURING 2023 WORKS BY EMILIO SANCHEZ WERE INCLUDED IN EXHIBITIONS AT, AND A CATALOGUE PUBLISHED BY, THE HARN MUSEUM ON THE CAMPUS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA. OTHER WORKS WERE SHOWN AT THE ART STUDENTS LEAGUE IN MANHATTAN. THE MUSCARELLE MUSEUM OF ART AT WILLIAM AND MARY UNIVERSITY PROVIDED A SUNSET IMAGE TO ILLUSTRATE THE EFFECT OF FOREST FIRES BY A NASA SPEAKER. THEY WERE ALSO FEATURED IN PRIVATE GALLERIES THAT DID NOT REPORT SALES TO THE FOUNDATION.
