TO DATE, DCP HAS SCREENED OVER 1050 STUDENTS WHO STRUGGLE WITH READING, WRITING, SPELLING AND OTHER RELATED DISABILITIES. PROVIDED ONE-ON-ONE TUTORING SERVICES TWICE A WEEK FOR OVER 1275 STUDENTS. PARTICIPATED IN APPROXIMATELY 150 EDUCATIONAL/AWARENESS WORKSHOPS FOR EDUCATORS, PARENTS, AND COMMUNITIES OVER THE YEARS. THE SHORT-TERM OUTCOME OF DCP'S TUTORING PROGRAM ARE: STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO READ WITH LESS ADULT ASSISTANCE, BECOME WILLING READERS AS THEY IMPROVE FLUENCY AND ACCURACY, WHILE GAINING CONFIDENCE IN READING, WRITING, AND SPELLING. THE LONG-TERM OUTCOME OF DCP'S TUTORING PROGRAM ARE: STUDENTS HAVE GAIN CONFIDENCE, BROADEN THEIR VOCABULARY, EXPERIENCE LESS ANXIETY, AND WILL INCREASE A MINIMUM OF ONE OR MORE READING GRADE LEVEL/S (RGL) PER YEAR.
