ENSURING A FUTURE FOR THE PAST: THE FRIENDS OF THE KAMINSKI HOUSE IS DEDICATED TO THE RESTORATION, PRESERVATION AND PROMOTION OF THE KAMINSKI HOUSE, A HISTORIC HOUSE MUSEUM OWNED BY THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, SC. THE FRIENDS IS A 501(C)(3) EDUCATIONAL ORGANIZATION WHICH THROUGH A PUBLIC/PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP OPERATES THE KAMINSKI HOUSE MUSEUM FOR THE PURPOSE OF PRESERVING THE MUSEUM AND EDUCATING THE PUBLIC ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF THE SITE, ITS HISTORY, COLLECTION AND RELEVANCE TO THE COMMUNITY.

THE PRINCIPAL PURPOSE OF THE FRIENDS OF THE KAMINSKI HOUSE IS TO OPERATE, MANAGE, PROMOTE, SUPPORT AND PRESERVE THE HISTORIC KAMINSKI HOUSE MUSEUM THROUGH A PUBLIC/PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN AND THE FRIENDS. THE ORGANIZATION ENTERED INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY ON JULY 1, 2013 TO MANAGE AND OPERATE THE KAMINSKI HOUSE MUSEUM, A HISTORIC HOME DATING TO THE MID 1700'S. THE FRIENDS MISSION STATEMENT IS "ENSURING A FUTURE FOR THE PAST". THE FRIENDS FOCUS ON CARRYING OUT THE MISSION STATEMENT BY EDUCATING VISITORS ABOUT THIS REGION, THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN AND THE ARCHITECTURE AND FURNISHINGS OF THE KAMINSKI HOUSE MUSEUM. THIS IS ACCOMPLISHED BY CONDUCTING DAILY TOURS OF THE PROPERTIES, PUBLIC PROGRAMMING, PUBLICATIONS, EDUCATIONAL EVENTS AND SPECIAL COMMUNITY EVENTS AND BY SERVING AS AN AREA VISITOR'S CENTER TO PROVIDE GUESTS WITH INFORMATION ABOUT THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN AND THE SURROUNDING AREA. IN 2021-2022, THERE WERE A TOTAL OF 12,698 VISITORS TO THE SITE.
