2021 GAVE THE OPPORTUNITY FOR CAMP DISCOVERY TO BRING A DEEPENED LEVEL OF SERVICE TO FAMILIES IN THE BLYTHEWOOD COMMUNITY & TO STUDENTS & TEACHERS IN THE SURROUNDING DISTRICTS. THE CAMP BECAME QUITE INNOVATIVE & EFFECTIVE WITH PROVIDING NATURE BASED PROGRAMS IN MULTIPLE MODALITIES: ONSITE, VIRTUAL, HYBRID, AND OFFSITE WITH DISCOVERY TO GO PROGRAMS. THE CAMP BECAME OFFICIALY CONSERVED UNDER CONGAREE LAND TRUST PROTECTING OUR 116 ACRES INTO PERPETUITY. WE HELD PEER SEMINARS FOR DHEC & EEASC (ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION ASSOCIATION OF SC). IN JUNE, WE WELCOMED BACK SUMMER CAMPERS, OPENED OUR EXPANDED TRAILS AND NEW LOW ROPES COURSE ELEMENTS TO THE COMMUNITY. WITH HELP FROM DONORS WE CREATED A BEAUTIFUL OVERLOOK PICNIC AREA & MADE IMPROVEMENTS & REPAIRS TO OUR PROPERTY. TWO STAFF MEMBERS BECAME CERTIFIED AS PROJECT WET, PROJECT WILD & PROJECT LEARNING TREE TRAINERS.
