200- OUTREACH, EDUCATION, AND COLLABORATION: OUTREACH AND EDUCATION ACTIVITIES FOR THE 2018 TAX-YEAR INCLUDE: STATEWIDE TV AND RADIO MULTIMEDIA 'AD CAMPAIGN' TO PROMOTE SEASONAL HAZARDOUS FUEL MITIGATION, PREVENTION AND FIRE PREPAREDNESS BY MONTANA STATE CITIZENS; HOSTING OF SEVERAL 'CHANGING ENVIRONMENT AND LARGE FIRE PREPAREDNESS' HOMEOWNER EDUCATION AND AWARENESS PRESENTATIONS AROUND WESTERN MONTANA TO SHOWCASE FIRE STRATEGY AND MITIGATION EFFORTS THAT HOMEOWNERS CAN TAKE TO PROTECT THEIR HOMES FROM WILDFIRE; HOSTING OF PRESENTATIONS THAT FOCUS ON ECOLOGICAL, SOCIAL, AND ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS THAT ARE INCREASING FIRE SIZE WITH SEVERE LANDOWNER CONSEQUENCES IN WESTERN MONTANA AND THE NORTHERN ROCKIES REGION; CONTINUE TO EMPLOY MEDIA SERVICES INVESTMENTS TO ENHANCE OUR STATE-WIDE SOCIAL MEDIA PROGRAM (WEBSITE, FACEBOOK AND TWITTER) TO INCREASE AND MAINTAIN OUR MESSAGING (POSTING OF ARTICLES, FEATURES, TOPICS OF INTEREST) TO LANDOWNERS ON HOME SURVIVABILITY, IGNITION RESISTANT BUILDING CONSTRUCTION, AND METHODS TO REDUCE HAZARDOUS FUELS AROUND HOMES IN THE WUI; CONDUCTED A 'POST CARD MAILING CAMPAIGN' TO OVER 2,200 HOMEOWNERS REMINDING THEM TO MAINTAIN HAZARD REDUCTION TREATMENTS THAT WERE IMPLEMENTED BY VARIOUS HAZARD FUEL REDUCTION PROGRAMS SINCE 2006; FIRESAFE MONTANA CONTINUES TO PRINT FIRE PREPAREDNESS BOOKLETS THAT ARE SHARED WITH ASSOCIATE FIRE COUNCILS, HAZARDOUS FUELS PROGRAMS AND FIRE EDUCATION AND AWARENESS EVENTS WITH DISTRIBUTION ACROSS A LARGE PORTION OF MONTANA; AND, CONTINUE TO DISCUSS AND PROMOTE PROACTIVE AND DIVERSE FIRE-RELATED ACTIONS IN COLLABORATIVE ENGAGEMENT WITH COMMUNITIES, AGENCIES, AND OTHER ORGANIZATIONS TO REDUCE THE LOSS OF LIVES AND PROPERTY FROM THE THREAT OF FIRES IN MONTANA.
