ECONOMIC MOBILITY (WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT & HOUSING) FORMER COORDINATED SERVICESA) ECONOMIC MOBILITY REFERS TO THE ABILITY OF A PERSON TO IMPROVE THEIR INCOME, LIFE AND BECOME SELF-SUFFICIENT. WE WORK WITH FAMILIES AND INDIVIDUALS TO UNDERSTAND THEIR GOALS AND DECISIONS FOR THE FUTURE, TO HELP THEM CREATE OPPORTUNITIES FOR ECONOMIC MOBILITY. WE SERVED 106 FAMILIES AND 209 INDIVIDUALS.B) STREET OUTREACH PROGRAM MEETS WITH INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES WHO ARE UNSHELTERED (SLEEPING IN A PLACE NOT MEANT FOR HUMAN HABITATION UNDER BRIDGES, IN THE WOODS, OR IN CARDS). WE SERVED 97 INDIVIDUALS IN THE PROGRAM.
EDUCATION - EDUCATION SERVICES INCLUDES BOTH YOUTH EDUCATION SERVICES AND ADULT EDUCATION SERVICES.A) THE PURPOSE OF THE YOUTH EDUCATION-LEARN WORKS AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM IS TO FOSTER ACADEMIC DEVELOPMENT AND ADVANCE FAMILY ENGAGEMENT FOR ENROLLED STUDENTS AND FAMILIES. WE FOCUS ON READING, MATH SKILL BUILDING, AND PROVIDING ENRICHMENT OPPORTUNITIES. WE SERVED 54 STUDENTS IN 1ST TO 8TH GRADE FROM 5 AREA SCHOOLS. B) IN ADULT EDUCATION, WE CONTINUED OUR PARTNERSHIP WITH CENTRAL PIEDMONT COMMUNITY COLLEGE TO HAVE ADULT ESL CLASSES OF VARIOUS DAYS, TIMES, AND LEVELS AT THE CENTER. OUR PARTNERSHIP WITH CPCC ALSO INCLUDES A GED PROGRAM AT THE CENTER. WEVE SERVED 9 AJC CLIENTS AND SEVERAL COMMUNITY MEMBERS THROUGH THESE ADULT EDUCATION CLASSES.
CRITICAL ASSISTANCEA) CRITICAL ASSISTANCE DEPARTMENT SERVED CLIENTS IDENTIFIED AS BEING IN CRISIS. THROUGH FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE WE SERVED 106 HOUSEHOLDS WITH A TOTAL OF OVER $154,075. B) LOAVES & FISHES: THIS PROGRAM PROVIDES A 7-DAY SUPPLY OF FOOD TO FAMILIES VIA REFERRALS BY SOCIAL WORKERS, SCHOOLS, CLERGY, MEDICAL STAFF, ETC. THE PANTRY PROVIDED FOOD TO 1,199 PEOPLE (UNDUPLICATED). THE PANTRY PROVIDED OVER 23,980 POUNDS OF FOOD, VALUED AT OVER $41,642.
