THE SCMS FINE ARTS NETWORK (FAN) PROVIDES FUNDING FOR NUMEROUS EXPENSES RELATED TO THE RUNNING OF THE FINE ARTS DEPARTMENTS AT SOUTH CHARLOTTE MIDDLE SCHOOL -- ART, BAND, CHORUS, DANCE, DRAMA, AND ORCHESTRA. FAN PAYS FOR COMPETITION FEES, TRAVEL FEES, SHEET MUSIC, PLAY SCRIPTS, COSTUMES/PROPS, STUDENT AWARDS, INSTRUMENT REPAIR, ART SUPPLIES, ETC. AS NEEDED BY THE PROGRAM DIRECTORS. THE FAN ORGANIZATION BENEFITS APPROXIMATELY 1,000 STUDENTS. FAN SUPPORTS VARIOUS CONCERTS/PERFORMANCES THROUGHOUT THE SCHOOL YEAR, AS WELL AS THE ANNUAL SCHOOL MUSICAL PRODUCTION WHICH FEATURES STUDENT PERFORMERS.
