OPERATION OF FAIR TRADE STORE: BULL CITY FAIR TRADE PURCHASED $235,000 IN HANDCRAFTS AND FOOD ITEMS SUBSTANTIALLY ALL OF WHICH WERE PRODUCED IN MANY ECONOMICALLY DEVELOPING COUNTRIES. A TOTAL OF 30 VOLUNTEERS DONATED ABOUT 868 HOURS WORTH $29,069 HELPING WITH SALES AND OTHER TASKS. AS MEMBERS OF THE FAIR TRADE FEDERATION MANY OF OUR SUPPLIERS COMMIT TO CREATING OPPORTUNITIES FOR MARGINALIZED PRODUCERS, DEVELOPING ACCOUNTABLE RELATIONSHIPS, ENSURING SAFE WORKING CONDITIONS, PAYING PROMPTLY AND FAIRLY, ENSURING THE RIGHTS OF CHILDREN, CULTIVATING ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP, AND RESPECTING CULTURAL IDENTITY. OTHER GROUPS WE WORK WITH FOLLOW FAIR TRADE PRACTICES. OUR ONLINE STORE INCREASES THE GEOGRAPHICAL REACH OF OUR SALES.
EDUCATION ACTIVITIES: BULL CITY FAIR TRADE HELD FEWER OUTREACH EVENTS DUE TO THE PANDEMIC.
