WORKING WITH OTHERS TO END THE CYCLE OF HOMELESSNESS WITH HOUSING AND CASE MANAGEMENT SUPPORT.

THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDED CASE MANAGEMENT AND FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO ACCESS AND MAINTAIN PERMANENT HOUSING UNDER ITS "PATH", "SUPPORTIVE SERVICES FOR VETERANS- AND "PERMANENT SUPPORTIVE HOUSING" PROGRAMS. OUR "PATH" TEAM OUTREACHES TO PEOPLE WHO ARE HOMELESS AND MENTALLY ILL, BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS THAT ALLOW THEM TO CONNECT CLIENTS WITH CRUCIAL MENTAL HEALTH CARE SERVICES, AS WELL AS BASIC NEEDS AND HOUSING SUPPORTS. SUPPORTIVE SERVICES FOR VETERANS (SSFV) ENDS HOMELESSNESS FOR VETERANS IN BUNCOMBE COUNTY. SSVF OUTREACHES TO VETERANS, OFFERS NEEDS ASSESSMENT, HOUSING SEARCH AND APPLICATION ASSISTANCE, MOVE-IN SUPPORT, SHORT TERM FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR HOUSING, SHORT CASE MANAGEMENT SUPPORT AND CONNECTION TO COMMUNITY RESOURCES. PERMANENT SUPPORTIVE HOUSING ENDS HOMELESSNESS BY MOVING PEOPLE DIRECTLY INTO THEIR OWN APARTMENTS AND PROVIDING THE SUPPORT THEY NEED TO STAY IN HOUSING. 89% OF THE PEOPLE IT HAS HOUSED HAVEN'T BECOME HOMELESS AGAIN.


THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDED SHELTER AND CASE MANAGEMENT FOR HOMELESS PERSONS IN ASHEVILLE AND BUNCOMBE COUNTY UNDER THE "AHOPE DAY CENTER- AND "ROOM IN THE INN" PROGRAMS. AHOPE IS THE FIRST STEP TOWARDS MOVING INTO HOUSING. IT'S OPEN MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY 8 A.M. TO 3 P.M, EXCEPT CLOSING AT 11:30 A.M. ON WEDNESDAYS. THE PROGRAM OFFERS BASIC SERVICES LIKE SHOWERS, MAIL, PHONE, & STORAGE. MOST IMPORTANTLY, AHOPE IS WHERE HOUSING INTAKES OCCUR TO GET PEOPLE ON THE ROAD TO PERMANENT HOUSING. LOCATED AT 19 N. ANN STREET, ASHEVILLE, NC. ROOM IN THE INN IS A MOBILE SHELTER SERVING 12 WOMEN AND OPERATED IN PARTNERSHIP WITH 60 FAITH COMMUNITIES WHO TAKE TURNS HOSTING THE WOMEN FOR A WEEK, PROVIDING ALL OF THEIR MEALS, SHELTER, AND EVENING ACTIVITIES. THE PROGRAM DIRECTOR COORDINATES CONGREGATIONS AND WORKS WITH THE WOMEN TO MOVE THEM OUT OF THE PROGRAM AND INTO PERMANENT HOUSING.
