Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

Part 3 - Line 4a

ALL SERVICES THE ENRICHMENT CENTER PROVIDES ASSIST INDIVIDUALS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES IN BECOMING AS INDEPENDENT AND SELF-SUFFICIENT AS POSSIBLE. THE NATURE OF OUR PROGRAMS BEING DESIGNED TO EMPOWER INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES CONTRIBUTES TO OUR EXEMPT STATUS. OUR ADULT DAY ACTIVITY PROGRAM ALONG WITH OUR CLASSROOM INSTRUCTION ARE DESIGNED TO TEACH INDIVIDUALS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES DAILY LIVING, VOCATIONAL AND INDEPENDENT LIVING SKILLS TRAINING. BECAUSE OF OUR ARTS BASED FOCUS WE OFFER VOCATIONAL ALTERNATIVES THROUGH THE SALE OF ARTWORK AND PERFORMANCES. COMMUNITY INCLUSION ALSO OCCURS THROUGH PERFORMANCES OPEN TO THE PUBLIC, JOBS, AND VOLUNTEER WORK, AND VARIOUS COMMUNITY EXHIBITS. ADDITIONALLY, WE PROVIDE ONE-ON-ONE SUPPORT SERVICES. THESE PROGRAMS ARE DESIGNED TO WORK ONE-ON-ONE WITH INDIVIDUALS TO MEET GOALS SET FORTH IN THEIR SERVICE PLANS. INDIVIDUALS MAY STAY IN THE PROGRAM AND/OR GO INTO THE COMMUNITY DEPENDING ON WHAT INDIVIDUAL GOALS THEY MAY HAVE. IN THESE PROGRAMS, INDIVIDUALS CAN VARY EACH MONTH OR EACH DAY. DURING THE 2021-2022 FISCAL YEAR, THE PROGRAM SAW MILD GROWTH FROM PREVIOUS YEARS, BUT NOT TO THE SAME LEVEL PRE-COVID-19. THE NATIONWIDE STAFFING ISSUES WERE A MAIN FACTOR THIS YEAR AS MANY LONG TIME EMPLOYEES LEFT FOR HIGHER PAYING JOBS IN THE FOR-PROFIT SECTOR. IN AN EFFORT TO MINIMIZE RISK OF COVID-19 AND MAINTAIN THE BEST CONTINUITY OF CARE DAY TO DAY, A POD STRUCTURE WAS ADOPTED IN 2020 FOR THOSE WHO ATTEND OUR DAY PROGRAM SERVICES. THIS STRUCTURE HAS REMAINED THROUGHOUT THIS FISCAL YEAR. B3 SUPPORTED EMPLOYMENT AND VOCATIONAL REHABILITATION SERVICES SAW AN INCREASE AS EMPLOYERS LOOKED FOR EMPLOYEES WHO WERE WILLING TO WORK. AS A RESULT THE INDIVIDUALS WE SERVE WERE ABLE TO CHOOSE FROM MULTIPLE JOB OPPORTUNITIES THAT BEST FIT THEIR SCHEDULING NEEDS AND JOB PREFERENCES. HOWEVER, DUE TO OUR INTERNAL STAFFING SHORTAGES, THE NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS SERVED IN THIS AREA WAS LOWER THAN PREVIOUS YEARS.
