PRESBYTERIAN MEDICAL CARE CORPORATION ("PMCC"), DOING BUSINESS AS NOVANT HEALTH MATTHEWS MEDICAL CENTER, IS DEDICATED TO SUPPORTING THE HEALTH AND WELFARE OF THE RESIDENTS OF THE COMMUNITIES SERVED BY THE ORGANIZATION. PMCC MAINTAINS AN OPEN DOOR POLICY, ACCEPTING ALL PATIENTS REGARDLESS OF THEIR ABILITY TO PAY. DURING 2021, PMCC HAD 157 LICENSED BEDS, WITH 50,586 PATIENT DAYS AND AN AVERAGE LENGTH OF STAY OF 4 DAYS. THE AVERAGE DAILY CENSUS WAS 139, AND THERE WERE 11,606 DISCHARGES. THERE WERE 5,811 INPATIENT AND OUTPATIENT SURGERIES, 38,649 EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT VISITS AND 96,763 OUTPATIENT ENCOUNTERS.
