TO MAKE A VITAL DIFFERENCE IN THE LIVES OF ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED PEOPLE NEEDING JOBS, NUTRITION, AND HOUSING COMFORT IN ORANGE, CHATHAM, ANSON, LEE, DURHAM, RANDOLPH, AND RICHMOND COUNTIES.

THE COMMUNITY SERVICES BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM PROVIDED COMPREHENSIVE CASE MANAGEMENT SERVICES TO 175 FAMILIES. 8 FAMILIES ROSE ABOVE THE POVERTY INCOME LEVEL. 83 PARTICIPANTS WERE ASSISTED TO OBTAIN GAINFUL EMPLOYMENT (OR BETTER EMPLOYMENT) WITH AN AVERAGE WAGE OF $13.25 AND AN AVERAGE CHANGE IN ANNUAL INCOME OF $7,970.35. PARTICIPANTS WERE ASSISTED TO COMPLETE TRAINING PROGRAMS AND EARN EDUCATIONAL CREDENTIALS. 10 FAMILIES WERE ASSISTED TO MOVE FROM SUBSTANDARD HOUSING TO AFFORDABLE STANDARD HOUSING AND AVERT FORECLOSURE.


THE WEATHERIZATION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM HAD A GOAL TO WEATHERIZE 42 UNITS FOR THE PROGRAM YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 2021. AT YEAR END, THE PROGRAM HAD COMPLETED 38 UNITS. THE HEATING AND AIR REPAIR AND REPLACEMENT PROGRAM HAD A GOAL OF COMPLETING 30 UNITS, AND AT YEAR END 26 UNITS HAD BEEN COMPLETED. PROGRAM COMPLETIONS WERE UNFORTUNATELY AFFECTED BY THE PANDEMIC.
