PROVIDES A VENUE FOR BUSINESS AND PROFESSIONAL LEADERS TO COME TOGETHER TO PROVIDE HUMANITARIAN SERVICE, ENCOURAGE HIGH ETHICAL STANDARDS IN THE WORKPLACE AND HELP TO BUILD GOODWILL AND PEACE IN THE WORLD. MEMBERSHIP LEVEL STABLE AT ABOUT 150 MEMBERS. THE CLUB WAS ABLE TO CONTINUE SOME OF ITS LONGSTANDING PROJECTS INCLUDING: WORKED WITH THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF WESTERN NC TO ASSESS AND AWARD 10 COMMUNITY GRANTS THROUGH THE ASHEVILLE ROTARY FOUNDATION, FUNDED BY THE CLUB'S MORRILL COMMUNITY GRANT FUND, TO LOCAL NON-PROFITS THAT PROVIDE NEEDED SERVICES TO THE LOCAL COMMUNITY. PROVIDED FUNDS AND VOLUNTEERS FOR THANKSGIVING BREAKFAST FOR THE VETERANS AT THE RESTORATION QUARTERS IN COOPERATION WITH ASHEVILLE BUNCOMBE COMMUNITY CHRISTIAN MINISTRIES. CLUB MEMBERS PARTICIPATED IN RAISING FUNDS TO HELP ERADICATE POLIO, PART OF ROTARY INTERNATIONAL'S EFFORTS WORLD-WIDE AS WELL AS COLLECTING COINS FOR COINS FOR ALZHEIMER'S RESEARCH TRUST, PART OF ROTARY'S EFFORT TO FIND A WAY TO ELIMINATE THE DEBILITATING RESULTS OF THAT DISORDER. WORKED WITH LOCAL INTERACT CHAPTER AT ASHEVILLE HIGH TO SET UP SEVERAL "VIRTUAL" VOLUNTEER ACTIVITIES TO WRITE CARDS OF SUPPORT TO VETERANS AND NURSING HOME RESIDENTS. THREE TEAMS OF CLUB MEMBERS PARTICIPATED IN VOLUNTEER FUNDRAISING EFFORTS WORKING THE CONCESSION STANDS AT THREE ASHEVILLE TOURISTS GAMES. SPONSORED FOUR CLUB MEMBERS TO ATTEND THE LEADERSHIP ASHEVILLE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM. HONDURAS MEDICAL/DENTAL BRIGADE - EVENT RETURNED IN 2022 FOLLOWING HIATUS IN 2021 DUE TO COVID-19. TYPICALLY A THREE-DAY MEDICAL AND DENTAL CLINIC IN COPAN RUINAS, HONDURAS, A RURAL AREA IN HONDURAS, STAFFED WITH AN OPTHAMOLOGIST AND FIVE DENTISTS. THE SCOPE OF THE SERVICE INCLUDES DENTAL EXTRACTIONS, RESTORATIVE DENTISTRY, FLOURIDE TREATMENTS AND GENERAL EYE EXAMINATIONS AND FITTING FOR GLASSES FOR THE RESIDENTS OF THE REGION. THE PROJECT IS IN KEEPING WITH ROTARY'S INTERNATIONAL SERVICE PROJECTS. PROVIDED HANDS-ON COMMUNITY SERVICE MONTHLY DURING THE YEAR AT NON-PROFITS INCLUDING ABCCM, IRENE WORTHAM CENTER AND GREENWORKS.
