PANTRY PACKS: THE FOUNDATION FUNDED THE PANTRY PACKS PROGRAM, WHICH IS A WEEKEND FOOD PROGRAM FOR FOOD INSECURE STUDENTS IN THE LAKE WASHINGTON SCHOOL DISTRICT. OVER THE COURSE OF THE TEN MONTH SCHOOL YEAR, APPROXIMATELY 800-850 STUDENTS RECEIVE PACKS OF FOOD EACH WEEKEND.
FUND A NEED: THE FOUNDATION GRANTED FUNDS FOR MUSIC EDUCATION, SUMMER SCHOOL PROGRAMS AND MISCELLANOUS EDUCATION GRANTS TO SUPPORT STUDENTS IN THE LAKE WASHINGTON SCHOOL DISTRICT.
YOUTH MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID- IS A FORMAL, NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED TRAINING PROGRAM THAT INTRODUCES ADULTS TO THE DISTINCT RISK FACTORS AND WARNING SIGNS OF MENTAL HEALTH PROBLEMS IN ADOLESCENTS, BUILDS UNDERSTANDING OF THE IMPORTANCE OF EARLY INTERVENTION, AND TEACHES INDIVIDUALS HOW TO HELP YOUTH WHO ARE IN CRISIS OR EXPERIENCING A MENTAL HEALTH CHALLENGE.
