THE GREATER GREENBRIER VALLEY COMMUNITY FOUNDATION, INC., A NONPROFIT WEST VIRGINIA CORPORATION (THE FOUNDATION), WAS ORGANIZED IN 1999 TO ADMINISTER AND DISTRIBUTE PROPERTY FOR CHARITABLE PURPOSES, PRINCIPALLY WITHIN THE AREA OF THE GREENBRIER VALLEY OF SOUTHEASTERN, WEST VIRGINIA, CONSISTING OF GREENBRIER, MONROE AND POCAHONTAS COUNTIES. THE BROAD OBJECTIVES OF THE FOUNDATION INCLUDE GROWING THE AMOUNT AND IMPACT OF CHARITABLE GIVING IN THIS AREA BY SERVING INDIVIDUAL AND INSTITUTIONAL DONORS AS THE MOST FLEXIBLE AND TAX-EFFICIENT METHOD TO GIVE TO THIS COMMUNITY. THE FOUNDATION STRIVES TO CONNECT DONORS TO THE CAUSES THEY CARE ABOUT MOST AND TO THE NEEDS OF THE COMMUNITY. ALSO, IN RECENT YEARS THE FOUNDATION'S OPERATIONAL AREA HAS FOUND THE NEED FOR A NON-PROFIT TO SERVE AS A FISCAL SPONSOR, PRINCIPALLY AS IT RELATES TO FLOOD RELIEF EFFORTS RELATED TO THE DEVASTATING SPRING 2016 FLOODS SUFFERED BY LARGE PARTS OF WEST VIRGINIA.

FROM TIME TO AND TIME,AND AS AN ENHACEMENT TO THE CULTURAL OR EDUCATONAL LIFE OF THE COMMUNITY THE ORGANIZATION SERVES AS A FISCAL SPONSOR OF PROGRAMS WITH CHARITABLE PURPOSES. THESE PROGRAMS FALL UNDER THE POLICIES AND PROCEDURES OUTLINED IN THE ORGANZATION'S "FISCAL SPONSORSHIP POLICY", WHICH IS MONITORED CLOSELY BY THE BOARD.
