THE MISSION OF HIGH ROCKS IS TO EDUCATE, EMPOWER, AND INSPIRE YOUNG PEOPLE IN WEST VIRGINIA.

FIRST2 NETWORK IS A STATEWIDE NETWORK. THE AIM IS TO DOUBLE THE RATE OF SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, AND MATH GRADUATES IN THE STATE. THE FOCUS IS ON FIRST-GENERATION AND OTHER UNDERREPRESENTED STEM STUDENTS IN THEIR FIRST TWO YEARS OF COLLEGE.


THE HUB IS HOME TO TWO YOUTH-RUN BUSINESSES, THE HUB CAFE AND TECH EXPRESS, SERVING CUSTOMERS OF ALL AGES. WE PARTNER WITH YOUNG PEOPLE WHOM WE HIRE TO LEARN VALUABLE WORK AND BUSINESS SKILLS WHILE THEY EARN MONEY SERVING THEIR COMMUNITY.


HIGH ROCKS AMERICORPS PARTNER SITES, THE MISSION OF OUR PARTNERSHIPS PROGRAM IS TO SUPPORT WORK THAT HELPS US MOVE TOGETHER TOWARD A JUST, PEACEFUL, PROSPEROUS AND INNOVATIVE WORLD. WE PARTNER WITH WV NON-PROFITS TO INCREASE LEARNING AND LEADERSHIP, IMPROVE HEALTH THROUGH NUTRITION EDUCATION AND LOCAL FOODS ACCESS, AND PROMOTE COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT AND VOLUNTEERISM TO BUILD STRONGER COMMUNITIES, SPREADING THE AMAZING RESOURCES AND OPPORTUNITIES AVAILABLE THROUGH AMERICORPS TO WV COMMUNITIES.


OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES INCLUDE HIGH ROCKS ACADEMY, TEACHING AND TRAINING, LOCAL FOODS, COMMUNITY PROGRAMS AND TRIPS, AND PARTNERSHIPS AND COMMUNITY OUTREACH. HIGH ROCKS ACADEMY PROVIDES TRANSFORMATIONAL SUMMER CAMPS, AND DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR, OPPORTUNITIES FOR POWERFUL YOUTH ENGAGEMENT AND SERVICE LEARNING, A HOLISTIC COLLEGE PREPARATION PROGRAM, COLLEGE TOURS, TUTORING AND MENTORING FOR MOTIVATED YOUNG PEOPLE GROWING INTO STRONG LEADERS IN WV. $215,117 OF THESE EXPENSES WERE FOR HIGH ROCKS ACADEMY.
