TO UPLIFT THE SPIRIT AND WELLBEING OF THE POOREST OF THE POOR, THE ABUSED AND THE DESOLATE THROUGH FEEDING AND NUTRITION; LIVELIHOOD FOR COMMUNITY AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT; GIFTGIVING; EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS AND BOOKS FOR SCHOOLS; INFRASTRUCTURE FOR CLASSROOM

EDUCATION: THE ORGANIZATION ENDEAVORS TO HELP FEED THE HUNGER FOR KNOWLEDGE AND EDUCATION AMONG THE POOR CHILDREN AND YOUTH IN THE PHILIPPINES. IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE COMMISSION ON FILIPINOS OVERSEAS (CFO), SCHOLARSHIPS ARE GIVEN TO DESERVING ELEMENTARY, HIGH SCHOOL, AND COLLEGE STUDENTS, CFO SCREENS SCHOLARS AND FACILITATES THE GRANTS. THE BOOKS PROGRAM CONTINUES TO WELCOME PARTNERS IN OUR EFFORTS TO SUPPLEMENT THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION MANDATED BOOKS TO ALL SCHOOLS WHERE FTH HAS BUILT CLASSROOMS. AS OF LAST COUNT, THESE SCHOOLS COME TO ABOUT SEVENTY PLUS SCHOOLS. THE NEED IS ALWAYS GREAT, THE WORKTREMENDOUS. FEED THE HUNGRY, INCS BOOKS PROGRAM HAS ALSO BEEN SUPPORTING THE EDUCATIONAL NEEDS OF VARIOUS INSTITUTIONS IN THEPHILIPPINES.


NOEL TORRES FEED THE HUNGRY INC.S BOOKS PROGRAM IS COMMITTED TO HELP THE PHILIPPINES BECOME AN EDUCATED NATION. EVERY YEAR, THE BOOKS PROGRAM DONATE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION (DEPED)MANDATED BOOKS TO FILIPINO CHILDREN WILL HAVE BASIC LITERACY SKILLS. WHILE MOST FILIPINO CHILDREN IN THE POOREST AREAS DO ENROLL IN GRADE 1, AN ESTIMATED 553 OF THEM WILL DROP OUT WITHOUT FINISHING HIGH SCHOOL DUE TO POVERTY. INCREASED ENCOURAGEMENT TO LOVE BOOKS AND EASY ACCESS TO BOOKS IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS AND LIBRARIES IS NEEDED TO PROMOTE FUNCTIONAL LITERACY,CREATIVE THINKING, AND INDEPENDENT READING SKILLS THAT ARE NEEDED FORFUTURE SUCCESS. THE LONGTERM IMPACT OF THE BOOKS PROGRAM IS EMPOWERING CHILDREN TO THINK CREATIVELY AND LEARN ON THEIR OWN.


INFRASTRUCTURE: THE CLASSROOM PROJECTS PROVIDE ADDITIONAL CLASSROOMS IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS WITH CRITICAL SHORTAGES. CONFIRMATION OF SITES IS PRINCIPALLY BASED ON STUDENT POPULATION AND CURRENT CLASSROOM CONDITIONS IN THE AREA. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO PROVIDES POTABLE WATER SUPPLY IN AREAS WITH LIMITED ACCESS TO WATER THROUGH THE CONSTRUCTION OF ARTESIAN AND DEEP WELLS, MANUAL OR ELECTRIC PUMPS, AND WATER TANKS.
