EDUCATION PROGRAMS: THE FRIENDS OF GREEN SPRING SUPPORTS BOTH ADULT AND YOUTH PROGRAMS THROUGH FUNDING A VARIETY OF PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES. THESE INCLUDE THE WINER LECTURE SERIES ON TOPICAL SUBJECTS OFFERED TO THE PUBLIC: ADULT HANDS ON GARDENING PROGRAMS PROPER TREE TRIMING TECHNIQUES: SALARY SUPPORT FOR AN ADULT PROGRAM ASSISTAN; YOUTH PROGRAM EXPENSE; SUPPORT FOR PARK VISITS BY STUDENTS FROM TITLE I ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS; SUMMER INTERNSHIPS FOR COLLEGE LEVEL HORTICULTURE STUDENTS; AND LIBRARY EXPENSES. EDUCATION PROGRAMS: THE FRIENDS OF GREEN SPRING SUPPORTS BOTH ADULT AND YOUR PROGRAMS THROUGH FUNDING A VARITY OF PROGRAMS ANAD ACTIVITIES. HORTICULTURE PROGRAMS: THE FRIENDS OF GREEN SPRINGSUPPORTS GREEN SPRING GARDENS BY FUNDING ALL ASPECTS OF ITS HORTICULTURE ACTIVITIES. THESE INCLUDE THE PURCHASE OF SEEDS PLANTS PLANT PROPAGATION MATERIAL TOOLS USED IN GARDENING ACTIVITIES TREE TRIMINGAND CARD AND MAINTENANCE OF A PLANT RECORD DATABASE. FRIENDS OF GREEN SPRING VOLUNTEERS WORK ALONGSIDEE THE PARK STAFF IN MAINTAINING THE GARDENS.


GENERAL PARK OPERATIONS: THE FRIENDS OF GREEN SPRING SUPPORTS OPERATIONS AT GREEN SPRING GARDENSBY FUNDING SUPPORT FOR THE 1784 HISTORIC HOUSE AND THE HORTICULTURE CENTER STAFF TRAINING PROFESSSIONAL MEMBERSHIPS AND SUBSCRIPTIONS FOR PARK STAFF AND SPECIAL PAARK IMPROVEMENTS. DURING 2022 THE LATTTER'S MAJOR FOCUS WAS RENOVATION OF THE GARDEN PLANTINGS WHICH HAD SUFFERED DURING THE PANDEMIC. FROGS SUPPORTED A SIGNIFICANT INCREASE FROM THE USUAL LEVEL OF ANNUAL PURCHASES OF PLANT MATERIALS AMD TOOLS AND ALSO FUNDED TREE CARE. FROGS ALSO APPLIED GRANT FUNDING TO UPDATE AND IMPROVE SIGNAGE IN THE GARDENS INCLUDING LAGE DISPLAYS OF A MAPAND ON-GOING ACTIVITIES.
