ANNUAL LICENSING SEMINAR THE ANNUAL LICENSING SEMINAR IS AN EDUCATIONAL CONFERENCE ATTRACTING STATE AND PROVINCIAL AGENCY PERSONNEL WHOSE FOCUS IS HUMAN CARE REGULATION. AT THIS EVENT, THE ASSOCIATION PROVIDES WORKSHOPS, KEYNOTE SPEAKERS AND ROUNDTABLES.
TRAINING AND CONSULTING CONTRACTS THE ASSOCIATION CONTRACTS WITH STATES, CANADIAN PROVINCES AND COUNTRIES TO PRODUCE ON-SITE AND ONLINE TRAINING THAT FOCUSES ON THE LICENSING CURRICULUM LEADING TO THE NARA LEVEL 1 CREDENTIAL FOR REGULATORS AS WELL AS SPECIALIZED TRAINING RELATED TO INVESTIGATION AND REGULATORY TOPICS. THE TRAINING PROVIDES REGULATORS WITH A BACKGROUND OF WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A REGULATOR, HOW ONE REGULATES TO ENSURE THE PROVIDERS PROTECT THE HEALTH, SAFETY AND WELFARE OF CHILDREN AND VULNERABLE ADULTS IN CARE, AND FURTHER PROVIDES A BLUEPRINT TO THE COLLECTION OF EVIDENCE AND PREPARATION FOR SUCCESS IN ADMINISTRATIVE HEARINGS OR REACHING SETTLEMENT AGREEMENTS THAT LEAD TO COMPLIANCE. THESE SERVICES ENHANCE AND REFINE THE DELIVERY BY STATES, PROVINCES AND COUNTRIES OF LICENSING SERVICES BY REGULATORS TO PROVIDERS.
ONLINE COURSES AND CREDENTIALING ONLINE COURSES FOR CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION IN HUMAN CARE LICENSING INCLUDING INTRODUCTION TO REGULATORY ENFORCEMENT, PHASES OF LICENSING, INVESTIGATION AND EVIDENCE, BALANCED USE OF AUTHORITY, MANAGING COMPLAINTS AND SUPPRESSING ILLEGAL OPERATIONS, HISTORY, RULE-MAKING AND ETHICS IN HUMAN CARE REGULATION. IF A CANDIDATE SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETES ALL FOUR ONLINE COURSES AND PASSES THE EXAM WITH A 75% OR BETTER, THE CANDIDATE IS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY FOR THE NARA NATIONAL REGULATORY PROFESSIONAL CREDENTIAL. THE NARA CREDENTIAL IS THE ONLY NATIONAL CERTIFICATION FOR HUMAN CARE LICENSORS.
LICENSING CURRICULUM THE ASSOCIATIONS LICENSING CURRICULUM IS A COURSE DEVELOPED BY QUALIFIED ASSOCIATION MEMBERS TO TRAIN STATE AGENCY LICENSING STAFF ON THE BASIC SKILLS NEEDED IN THEIR WORK. THE TEXT FOR THE LICENSING CURRICULUM CONSISTS OF 12 CHAPTERS ON DIFFERENT TOPICS WHICH CAN BE TAUGHT EITHER AS A WHOLE OR SEPARATELY. SOME STATES CONTRACT WITH THE ASSOCIATION TO PROVIDE TRAINERS TO TEACH THE CURRICULUM. OTHERS PURCHASE THE CURRICULUM AND USE IT AS A REFERENCE MANUAL. WEBINARS THE ASSOCIATION PROVIDES POLICY AND INTEREST AREA WEB- CONFERENCES ABOUT MAJOR LICENSING ISSUES OF NOTE AS WELL AS CUSTOMIZED AND TARGETED WEB-CONFERENCES TO MEMBER INTEREST AREAS AND IDENTIFIED PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT NEEDS.
