GIRL SCOUT COUNCIL OF COLONIAL COAST, A UNITED WAY AGENCY, SERVES GIRLS IN GRADES K-12, IN SOUTHEASTERN VIRGINIA AND NORTHEASTERN NORTH CAROLINA. OUR MISSION IS TO BUILD GIRLS OF COURAGE, CONFIDENCE AND CHARACTER, WHO MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE.

GIRL SCOUTING STARTED IN HAMPTON ROADS IN 1917 - HONORING GIRL SCOUTS OF THE USA FOUNDER JULIETTE GORDON LOW'S LEGACY OF DEVELOPING THE FULL POTENTIAL OF GIRLS. GIRL SCOUTS OF THE COLONIAL COAST SERVES 7,077 GIRLS IN GRADES K THROUGH 12, REGARDLESS OF MEANS, IN PARTNERSHIP WITH 4,538 ADULT MENTORS IN SOUTHEASTERN VIRGINIA AND NORTHEASTERN NORTH CAROLINA. THE GIRL SCOUT LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE BUILDS ON A STRONG FOUNDATION OF FOUR PILLARS - STEM, OUTDOORS, LIFE SKILLS AND FINANCIAL LITERACY/ENTREPRENEURSHIP THROUGH ENGAGING HANDS ON EXPERIENCES. GIRLS DISCOVER, CONNECT, AND TAKE ACTION IN THEIR COMMUNITIES TO MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE. WITH SUPPORT FROM VOLUNTEERS, CAREGIVERS, AND 37 FULL-TIME AND 5 PART-TIME STAFF MEMBERS, GIRLS RECEIVE THE UNIQUE GIRL SCOUT LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE. THE COUNCIL IS CHARTERED BY GIRL SCOUTS OF THE USA, THE LARGEST AND BEST GIRL LEADERSHIP ORGANIZATION IN THE WORLD WITH A MEMBERSHIP OF 2 MILLION ADULT AND GIRL MEMBERS, NATIONALLY. GIRL SCOUTING BUILDS GIRLS OF COURAGE, CONFIDENCE, AND CHARACTER WHO MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE.
