THE VCO ENTERED INTO A RELATIONSHIP WITH THE MEADOWLARK BOTANICAL GARDENS TO PRESENT FREE CONCERTS IN THE SPACIOUS GARDENS DURING THIS TIME OF COVID. ON FOUR SUNDAY AFTERNOONS IN SEPTEMBER, 2022, AND FOUR SUNDAY AFTERNOONS IN MAY AND JUNE 2023, VCO ENSEMBLE GROUPS PRESENTED PROFESSIONAL CLASSICAL MUSIC TO AUDIENCES UP TO 500. SINCE THE KOREAN BELL GARDEN COVERS THE EQUIVALENT OF THREE FOOTBALL FIELDS, SOCIAL DISTANCING WAS EASY AND NATURAL. A TOTAL OF APPROXIMATELY 2,000 PEOPLE HAVE ATTENDED THESE CONCERTS. THE VCO INTENDS TO CONTINUE THESE CONCERTS INTO THE FORESEEABLE FUTURE. THE VCO OPENED ITS FISCAL 2024 SEASON WITH AN OUTSTANDING CONCERT AT THE LEWINSVILLE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH IN MCLEAN, VIRGINIA. IT WAS THE DELIGHT OF THE SEASON. WE WENT ON TO PROVIDE HOLIDAY CONCERT AT MCLEAN'S ALDEN THEATER AND OUR SPRING CONCERTS AT CAPITAL ONE THAT WERE VERY WELL RECEIVED. OUR SPRING CONCERT WAS A SIDE-BY-SIDE CONCERT WITH THE WILLIAM AND MARY SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA WHICH ALLOWED COLLEGE STUDENTS TO WORK DIRECTLY WITH THE ACCOMPLISHED PROFESSIONALS OF THE VCO. THE VCO PLAYED FOR ABOUT 800 PATRONS, INCLUDING PROVIDING 150 COMPLEMENTARY TICKETS FOR WOUNDED WARRIORS AND THE UNDER-SERVED OF NORTHERN VIRGINIA.
