WATER SAFETY EDUCATION PROGRAMS, MATERIALS/SUPPLIES: PROVIDING EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR RECREATIONAL BOATING SAFETY EFFORTS AND RUNNING BOATING SAFETY PROJECTS. EXAMPLES INCLUDE NATIONWIDE BOATING SAFETY CAMPAIGNS AND LIFE JACKET LOANER PROGRAMS THAT ALLOW BOATERS TO BORROW FREE LIFE JACKETS AT LOCAL BOATING VENUES. PROVIDING VITAL EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS/SUPPLIES TO VOLUNTEERS OF THE US COAST GUARD AUXILIARY AND ASSISTANCE TO AUXILIARY MEMBERS SERIOUSLY INJURED WHILE PERFORMING COAST GUARD AUXILIARY MISSIONS. WE ENSURE LOCAL COAST GUARD AUXILIARY VOLUNTEERS ARE PROPERLY TRAINED AND READY TO BE "YOUR" COMMUNITY'S BOATING SAFETY EXPERTS.
NATIONAL CONFERENCE: TYPICALLY, AN ANNUAL CONFERENCE IS HOSTED WHERE NEARLY 400 PARTICIPANTS OBTAIN THE LATEST INFORMATION ON AUXILIARY PROGRAMS AND PARTICIPATE IN A PACKED SCHEDULE FULL OF INFORMATIVE WORKSHOPS, ROUNDTABLES, AND TRAINING SESSIONS CAPPED OFF BY THE NATIONAL COMMODORE'S BANQUET.DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, THE NATIONAL CONFERENCE FOR 2021 WAS CANCELLED.
