THE MISSION OF THE NATIONAL COUNCIL FOR THE SOCIAL STUDIES IS TO ADVOCATE AND BUILD CAPACITY FOR HIGH-QUALITY SOCIAL STUDIES BY PROVIDING LEADERSHIP, SERVICES, AND SUPPORT TO EDUCATORS.

PUBLICATIONS AND MAILINGS - WHETHER FOR PERSONAL GROWTH, NEW INSIGHTS, OR A DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE ON TEACHING, THE AWARD-WINNING PUBLICATIONS OFFERED BY NATIONAL COUNCIL FOR THE SOCIAL STUDIES WILL HELP YOU EXPLORE THE DIVERSITY OF SUBJECTS AND METHODS IN YOUR FIELD. NCSS OFFERS FOUR JOURNALS, A MONTHLY NEWSLETTER AND OVER 40 BULLETINS AND BOOKS.


ANNUAL CONFERENCE - ALLOWS ATTENDEES TO SHARE THE MOST CURRENT KNOWLEDGE, IDEAS, RESEARCH, AND EXPERTISE IN SOCIAL STUDIES EDUCATION. WITH OVER 500 WORKSHOPS AND CLINICS SUPPORTED BY 200 EXHIBITS, NCSS SERVES AROUND 3,900 PARTICIPANTS.


MEMBERSHIP SERVICES - NCSS MEMBERSHIP ENGAGES AND SUPPORTS EDUCATORS IN STRENGTHENING AND ADVOCATING FOR SOCIAL STUDIES WHILE PROMOTING CIVIC COMPETENCE.
